The Election Commission is preparing to hold the local government election in March 2023. As such, political parties and intelligence agencies conduct surveys about political situations. Learned, a special intelligence report has been addressed to President Ranil about the current situation. The followings are a set of facts extracted from such a report.

1. In terms of election preparations, Sajith Premadasa and Anura Kumara are at the forefront, JVP & SJB  have already started an island-wide campaign covering the grassroots.

2. During the May 9th riots properties belonging to  542 SLPP local politicians have been destroyed. It is worth noting None of the rural politicians have received compensation so far. They are frustrated with the Rajapakshas

3.  42 buses that arrived at Temple tree were set on fire. Owners of the said buses have not received a single rupee of compensation. As such, the rural politicians who brought those buses remain guilty conscious.

4. The commission made by the former president to investigate destruction that took place from March 31 to May 15, has become another tragedy that backfired on the victims themselves. The reason is that some politicians who thought the commission was partial to them have asked for compensation from 50-100 crores. But with the arrival of Ranil, the situation changed, Valuation reports given by some politicians turned into cases of ill-gotten wealth.

5. Even though the local politicians of SLPP have not received compensation, the politicians at the national level have been compensated through various methods. Due to this the ground level of SLPP has been shattered.

6. Reorganizing and restructuring of UNP has not started yet. Members believe the reason caused for it is conflicts that have emerged in the party headquarters

7. Politicians who became independent from SLPP have not reached the grassroots till now.

We called for clarity from SLPP MP  about the current situation. He said that neither he nor any MP has received a single Rupee of compensation. But he said that, a piece of news is planted,  that the government has paid compensation to MPs. He said it is a serious conspiracy

Further, he said intelligence agencies and a group of government officials are behind it. As of now, most of the high officials including Shavendra and Kamal Gunaratne have become obedient disciples of Ranil.  Derana & Hiru media are supporting  Ranil. He said that those who defended SLPP then have turned against SLPP & Rajapakshas today. As of now, SLPP politicians are in great difficulty. They have become an orphan in their  own house, he said.

We also asked for clarity from  UNP former minister in the Colombo district about the current politics, economy, and the restructuring of the UNP. He said that it is possible to recover the economy, but it needs to undergo surgery. it is special surgery that ejects an organ and saves a life. But It is a possible mission, as main right-wing groups have merged together. Further, he remarked, a group of SLPP, SLFP, and SJB is scheduled to join with UNP before the local election. Accordingly,  UNP is going to turn a new page in Sri Lankan politics, he said
