How are the LTTE zombies destroying mineral economy in Srilanka

0

Mannar is the richest district in terms of mineral resources.

Petroleum, ilmenite, rutile and zircon are main resources there.

Mannar is specialized in mineral sands. As Titanium can be obtained from 58% of its ilmenite and 98% of its rutile.

On the other hand, due to the presence of stable winds, it is a very suitable for wind power plants.

However, the wind power plants project  has been shrunk due to protests.

Mineral sands projects have been lying idle due to various resistances.

The petroleum project is still in the exploration stage.

Who is destroying the mineral economy?

The first attack on the mineral economy of the North was made by Velupillai Prabhakaran.

1. On August 6, 1996, the LTTE attacked the “MV Princess Wave”, a ship transporting ilmenite.

2. On September 12, 1997, the M.V. Cordiality, a ship carrying ilmenite, was attacked.

The LTTE’s policy was not giving  mineral resources of the North to the government in the South. The same was the policy of the Church.

Even though Prabhakaran and Bishop  Rayappu Joseph are gone, their policies are still in effect.

What is being used today instead of weapons to attack the mineral economy?

1. The geopolitical power of the Church.

The wind power plant project was scrapped on the day the Vatican’s Secretary for International Relations, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, visited Colombo.

This was not done because of a court order or a recognized environmental report, but simply because of the fear of the Church.

2. Environmental policies that were turned upside down.

Wind is the least environmentally damaging source of electricity generation.

Ilmenite is radioactive. It poses health risks, including cancer. Removing ilmenite from coastal areas is a health service to the community.

There is a saying among the people of Mannar that “A wave comes, sand comes”.

The tides of the North Sea bring valuable mineral resources to the Manner coast  from various destination of the south Asia.

But people do not know that is black gold.

The church does not allow the people to open their eyes.

Back then, Prabhakaran served  cyanide capsule otherwise  suicide pill, under the pretext of liberation.

Today, the church is giving life to separatism under the pretext of environmental protection

The current mandate to the NPP government  has been received in favor of the mineral economy and renewable energy.

Facts being so, president of the republic have indispensable duty to  full fill the aspirations of the people.

The Sakwala program is a tragedy like Kasippu Mudalali sponsoring the Temperance Association.

0

As of now government has imposed restriction on Sajith Premadasa’s Sakwala project. Through that program, buses and computers were provided to schools. This article examines the pros and cons of the program

Advantages of receiving buses to schools
1. Being able to go funeral houses by bus ( Happy funeral trips )
2. Being able to go to sports events by bus ( Happy sport trips )

Disadvantages  of receiving buses to schools
1. The people benefiting from the bus is confining to very limited
2. The maintaining cost of the bus allocating on all the children in the school

It is worth to note, Sajith’s computer donation project is not second to bus project . Sri Lanka’s education system does not possess fit and proper school syllabus for Information technology.

Further Information technology has not been included in the primary syllabus. Therefore, providing computers without preparing the syllabus properly as well as without a national plan is a white elephant.

Distributing computers to schools without a national plan is a failed project. The first thing national politicians like Sajith should do is to include information technology in the school syllabus that suit the new world.

Due to the aforementioned basic deficiency, the information technology program started by Mahinda Rajapaksa in 2009-2014 also failed completely. (Mahindodaya Technological Laboratories” were proposed to cover  1000 secondary schools)

On the other hand, Sajith’s donation in buses and computers is a tragedy. No one knows where the money for Sajith’s projects comes from. According to reports, Sajith receives money from smugglers. From religious groups like Bone Again.

It is a great tragedy that the opposition leader of a country is drowning in the money of traffickers.

Short and sweet Sajith’s The Sakwala project is a tragedy like Kasippu Mudalali sponsoring the Temperance Association.

The PHI story – Government servants are more corrupted than politicians

0

Even if the politician changes from 5 years to 5 years, the  government officials  remains in power for 30 to 40 years. Because of this, there is a theory that not politicians but government officials should be used for underhand  deals. .

Today, local government institutions  are totally under the control of  government officials.  The number of politicians in this country is confined to two 225.. But there are 18 lakh Government servants.

It is no prejudice that saying  Government  servants are playing with the law and order . In short, the Government sector  has become an underworld.

Years back  the governor of the central bank announced that bankruptcy  without even informing the parliament.. Same manner he  increased CBSL staff’s  pay and emoluments

At present, Sri Lanka’s health service has attracted the attention of many people. Health workers has  involved  procurement of substandard medicine.  Recently   a PHI was shot dead. What he did and said while he was alive has been the subject of great controversy.

The PHI post  was introduced by British rulers then.  The position of PHI in the  military holds by other rankers, not by commissioned officers.

.
But PHIs in Srilanka clad  gorget patches on the collar. In military , gorget patches on the collar can only be clad by officers on or above the rank of colonel.

The National Alert asked clarity from  a Medical officer about this confusion. He  said wearing the gorget patches on the collar by PHI is illegal act. This shows how the public service has gone a stray.

The video  herewith contains a speech of  Roshan Kumara, who was shot dead recently, It was a speech  conducted to students . There are 9994 schools in Sri Lanka. 2500 of them have no toilet facilities and no water. But PHIs does not talk about these. Issues  The reason is that they cannot make money by talking about these issues.

As per international norms, there should be one toilet per 50 students. According to that, 99% of schools in Sri Lanka do not have adequate sanitary facilities. But PHIs do not talk these issues as they can not make money on that area .

The primary functions of PHIs are waste management, control of  pandemics and other diseases, water quality assurance, dog vaccination, mosquito control etc.
PHIs leave their primary duties aside and go after food and beverages  and hotels because it is the best room  to make money.

For a country to develop, it should  manufacture  value added products as possible. As of now a controversial video of PHI Roshan Kumara ( Deceased ) has become hot topic. There  it can seen severe criticization on Tipi Tip.  It is a (Tipi tip) value added  product that manufacture by corn flour. Indiscriminately condemning such local products is an act of treason.

Government  servants are people who are paid with public money, and they are very under-productive people. But a very privileged group .it is worth to note,  Government servants should be held much more  responsible for the  countries’ bankruptcy  than politicians.

Nandalal’s role in the CBSL

0

Today Members of both the Government and the Opposition are up in arms against the recent salary hike granted to the employees of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL)

As per the constitution Parliament should approve any salary hikes for Central Bank officials as it is the legislature that has the power over finances.

As per the exposure that taken place at the parliament  The monthly salary of a Deputy Governor of the Central Bank has been increased to Rs. 1.6 million while a peon’s salary has been increased by Rs. 70,000.

Burning question herein is did CBSL staff including its governor  perform any special role to become entitled to an exorbitant salary?

27 Aug 2023  Sunday times  revealed that Nanadalal Weerasinghe announced  debt default  in the backdrop where the government was expecting to receive US$ 10.7 billion loan .Said  Doller loan  was expected to be procured from several overseas parties. That means bankrupting the country is a planned conspiracy

During Economic crisis  India  made massive profits in all fields under the guise of helping Sri Lanka. It is well evident  Nandalal support the economic decisions that taken in favor of India.

Printing money is an easy job. But goods and services cannot be printed.  Nanda Lal did not support to increase the production. He just printed the  money.

Generally when the  money is printed, the demand increases. As a result prices rising.

When the government prints money, it comes to the public. Subsequently, people use that money to buy petrol, sugar, milk, and electrical appliances etc. Most of these items imported its revolves dollars. Although  Rupees can be printed Dollars are not. As a result, It creates a  Doller shortage.

Accordingly, central bank took  2 serious action that,

1. Raising interest rates

2. Restriction of imports

The moment  CBSL   take these decisions   the interest rate for bank deposits was 17%. inflation was 58%. In such a situation, people did not deposit money in the bank.

Nevertheless, Increasing  interest rate worsen the crisis.  CBSL  decision forced Commercial banks to increased the interest rates . it is undisputed fact that, No one start Businesses in a situation where interest rate is high . All above, Raising interest rates badly affected the  stock market.

There are three categories of imports in Sri Lanka. These are consumer goods, intermediate goods, and investment goods. The largest portion is intermediate goods, which is 57%.This category contains inputs for manufacturing . Imposing restrictions on these goods resulted many companies to shut down and reduction  in the GDP.

When the country is facing a crisis, it is dangerous to apply the book theories as it is. The economy of Sri Lanka collapsed because of such  applications. In fact, the central bank boss and the staff  are the executors  of the economy, not the saviors. But they got the fame of rebuilding the economy. They were privileged.

As how Nanda Lal announced non-payment of foreign debt without informing Parliament. Similar manner he got CBSL salary increased. Before going home, Nandalal took a brutal salary increment. But Nandalal is a hero, people used to blame politicians.
