After the Saindamarudu blast, none of the DNA samples taken from  the 16 corpses matched the DNA samples of Pulastini’s mother. Pulastini was married to Katuapitiya bomber Mohammad Hastoon. After marriage she was named Sarah Jasmine

Senior Superintendent of Police Samantha Wijesekera has been  cited before the Presidential Commission that it has not been confirmed that Sara Jesmin died in the Saindamarudu explosion.

The DNA report on Sarah Jasmine is extremely cryptic. So far, 2 DNA reports related to her have been released.

It has also been reported that a senior police officer involved in Sarah’s DNA report, died suddenly. Another senior officer who investigated Sara has left the country.

The court allowed the third DNA report to be called due to the suspicious nature of Sarah’s DNA report.

On April 27, 2022, the corpses of the 16 people who died in the Sainda Marudu explosion  were exhumed according to the permission obtained from the Kalmunai Magistrate’s Court.

The third DNA report on Sarah has now been completed. On October 17, 2022, the relevant report has been produced  to the court by the Government Analyst’s Department.
