1. Former Minister in charge of Police Tiran Alles has been summoned to the CID tomorrow. As per the case, it is imperative to obtain a statement from the Minister in charge of Police. However, the official police clarity in this regard gets doubtful shape. The police have stated that they going to record a statement mare based with suspicion in other words they not have proof.

2. Udaya Gammanpila, in an interview with a weekend newspaper, has stated that the current President has shamefully influenced his court case. It has also been stated that, it was a bogus case filed by Champika Ranawaka due to a personal enmity. The case alleging that in 1997, a forged document was prepared, and chargersn was filed in 2016 (after 19 years) Further, particular forged document has not been presented to the court. Not even a police statement has been taken from those who appear in witness list. Gammanpila told the newspaper.

4. Former Justice Minister Wijeyadasa says that the proposal brought by NPP MPs to remove Deshabandu from the post of IGP is illegal. The President appointed Deshabandu as IGP. As per the previous President, approval of the Constitutional Council was obtained for this. However, the appointment of the IGP was suspended by a court order. Accordingly, now Deshabandu is no longer the IGP. While the court order was still in effect, NPP MP’s proposal to the remove the IGP is irregular. Accepting such is by the speaker is illegal. 6. It is a national plan of this country to produce 70% of Sri Lanka’s electricity needs from renewable energy by 2030. Government has planned to insert large-scale investors on it.

For the past, the Electricity Board has allowed the general public to sell additional electricity to the Electricity Board through solar panels installed on the rooftop, up to 40 kilowatts under the net metering system.

There are about 100,000 such solar panel houses in srilanka. Last year, about 600 megawatts added to the national grid from such houses. The current government is scheduled to cut that capacity by fifty percent.

As one of the steps, the government is prepared to reduce such unit from Rs. 37 to Rs. 19. Due to this situation, nearly one hundred thousand people are scheduled to lose their jobs.

7. The government is planning to provide land in the Siyambalanduwa to a Singapore company for a large-scale solar power plant. The relevant documents have been submitted to the cabinet.

8. An agreement is scheduled to sign with the Indian Prime Minister on April 5 for a 50-megawatt sola power plant in Sampur.

9. President Anura Kumara, addressing a rally in the local government elections, says that Sri Lanka will become the country with the lowest electricity rates in the region by next four years.

10.Government has planed to register private tuition teachers. SLGov is planned to establish an institution called “Teachers’ Council” for this purpose. In the future, those who are not registered with the council will not be able to conduct private tuition.
